Amrsfort team won HIRDA summer football Tournament cup 2009
“Sport for peace”
Team Amrsfort has won on Sunday 24 May Hirda Amsterdam summer Tournament 2009. The tournament was organized HIRDA foundation and ASDA Foundation. The organizations want to involve the young Somalis and Ghanaians in development aid through sports. Moreover the foundations want to build a peace network for the Somali and Ghanaians youth in the Netherlands.
Amrsfort team found Tilburg in the final. Hirda team was the champion of previous year and they wanted to keep the cup, but the team lost in the sami-final. In the first round of the tournament Amrsfort have played Tilburg. The teams were played (1-1). The Tilburgers need to win in the final, because the team was good organised and had good experience. However it was not easy. The teams were challenges to each other.
Amrsfort score in the first half of the match. The team played very strong and they had team spirit. Tilburg tried to come back and make goals. Amrsfort did not give up and they continued attack constantly. The team succeed to make the second goal. Tilburg tried latest minutes to make goals and they score one goal. This was however not enough and Amersfort became the winner (2-1) of the Hirda Amsterdam Summer football tournament 2009.
This tournament is the second summer football tournament, which was organized in the Netherlands by HIRDA. It is also popular in the young Somalis in the Netherlands. The tournament was organized this year by two Diaspora organizations in Amsterdam en Almere (HIRDA & ASDA). The participating teams came from all over the Netherlands. The teams that were taken part in this tournament were: HIRDA, Somvao, Amrsfort, Tilburg and Corrailo Alkmaar. The teams were strong and they played very beautiful. The Motto of the tournament in this year was “sport for Peace in Somalia” . Abdiqani Said Arab the secretary of Somali football federation who was a honour gast of this tournament handed over the Cup to the champion team “Amrsfort”. The tournament was success.
