"We believe in equal opportunities for boys and girls"
Somali has been ravaged by civil war since 1991.The educational system has been totally destroyed. anarchy and instability has led the country into disarray .Many people were forced to flee from their homes and look for shelter to make shift camps through out the country(especially south and central Somali and outskirts of Mogadishu).A large number IDP’’s have landed in Beled weyn ,where they can cope and receive the necessary human needs
Primarily, education became an important aspect for the future of their children .Hence HIRDA has immediately responded to support those children living in the squalid camps. With the support of IDRF who funded the school in doomey.HIRDA was able to deliver the construction of school in the camp .The school consists of 2 class rooms and 2 toilets .It was a challenging and innovative project which aimed to enhance and improve the educational needs of Doomeey IDP children in Berlet wine.
Mr. Eng. Ali Shirwac representative of HIRDA in Hiiraan region, has officially opened the new school on first of September. It was a historic event where many dignitaries including community and religious leaders attend the event.Mr Shirwac has appreciated HIRDA and IDRF efforts on the successful of this project.
